Do you believe in miracles? What’s your faith or religion? I’m currently struggling tuning into God. Can you help?

Dear Faithful, I define myself as a child of God. I consider myself a Christian. As for miracles, I believe they have happened in the past, happen currently and will continue to happen in the future. I often wonder why miracles are not talked about as miracles anymore. Maybe we take them for granted? Do we take the small things that happen for the good and say it was chance or luck? In my opinion, its ALL God. All of it. It sounds to me like you are a Christian.

Not recognizing miracles as miracles is easy to do. Why? It is easy to become clouded and take things and situations for granted. I recently read a Facebook post that read about simple things to be grateful for, instead of, upset about.

Here is what I am talking about; You get ready for work, get in the car, place your coffee in your lap, you pull out of the driveway, you forget your coffee lid is open, you hit a bump, you spill coffee everywhere. Now, you need to go back in the house and change your clothes, and your late… BUT You may have avoided the accident you saw 20 minutes into your drive? Who knows, maybe it was a miracle?! Too often we take the small things for granted. I forget too BUT I am glad for your email because it made me remember!

The Bible has many stories considered to be miracles. Miracles even happened to women back then! LOL Check out 1 Samuel! Everyday miracles are performed by doctors, professionals, parents, etc.
Maybe it is us, clouded because of all life has dealt? Are we losing faith as a society?!
As I get closer to God I find ‘tuning in’ (as you call) it is easier.

As I love myself more, I am able to ‘tune in’ to God more.

As I love myself more, I am able to love my kids and husband even more.

What more of an incentive do we need to care and love ourselves?!

Sincerely,

Ultimate Abbey
