Dear Ultimate Abbey, I see on your about me page you say you’re a runner. What is your best advice for women who don’t love running but want to start working out for weight loss? I am slightly overweight and let’s just say I’m out of breath chasing my children up the steps. In the past, I had great results with running but after my fourth child I cannot seem to love it anymore. It’s the one piece of my life, OK maybe not just the one, I feel missing is exercise.

Don’t get so down on yourself g.f. We all fall off the ‘band wagon’ now and again. Let’s pick this up together. First, There is no one exercise program that works for every woman &

Don’t get so down on yourself g.f. We all fall off the ‘band wagon’ now and again. Let’s pick this up together. First, There is no one exercise program that works for every woman & there is usually multiple options for your body type and result you want to get. So there is hope.

I wasn’t always a runner. I dabbled. I dropped it for awhile and really got in to boxing/aerobic exercise. I loved to hit stuff! Lol After that phase running found ME, again. Currently, training for a half marathon I chose yoga as my cross training.

A new love was found when I began to incorporate yoga to my routine. I very soon started to notice a more lean, fit me. Almost felt taller! I have been hooked ever since! One of my favorite yoga workouts is on youtube. #yogawithadriene My girl, Adriene is always talkin about love, peace, harmony and the inner beauty of YOU, lovin’ on yourself, it’s yoga love baby! You have to try her YouTube channel it is so so so great  xoxo #yogawithadriene

I was always one of those women who thought you can’t get fit unless you sweat…like a lot… but the truth is YOU can. It comes down to the kitchen. YEP also something I never thought I’d say.

So choose the exercise that is good for your lifestyle. Some things to think about before you plan.

Oh yes, you are planning my friend!

Things to think about.
Any injuries you have to consider when choosing the exercise plan?
How long do you have each day?
What is the weight loss goal or maybe you are maintaining your weight or would like to tone?
How many days per week can you exercise?
Time of day you will be exercising?

After answering the questions pick a day within the week you will begin. No excuse, try it for 3 months. Any new habit can be formed in 3 months. After you establish your new routine you will be hooked and the new routine/lifestyle will be second nature.

Good Luck!

Here is the yoga mat I love! It is very thick providing much support. for your body.

Sincerely,

Ultimate Abbey
