Dear Ultimate Abbey, How do you know you are doing OK as a mom?

Dear prevailing momma, our victories maybe small the first 16 to 18 years of their lives. But all the small victories add up to a great human! Watching our children walk, talk, getting good grades

Dear prevailing momma, our victories maybe small the first 16 to 18 years of their lives. But all the small victories add up to a great human!

Watching our children walk, talk, getting good grades in school, making good friends, treating others kindly, wanting to do things the right way and thinking about others are some of the ways we will know we are successful as parents.

Recognize the small victories and try to take recognition of them every day. It will help you be positive toward your children as well as patting yourself on the back.

Even if it is something little. For example, my almost 5-year-old was able to get me a yogurt, spoon, and napkin all in one trip. This may sound little but that is a huge accomplishment for a child who is not even five years old! I was extremely proud. LOL

My child has the basic life skills to get me food! If we were in an emergency, we would expect them to take the direction of picking up the phone and dialing 911. I literally hugged and kissed him for a few minutes, I was so proud. At that moment, even though it was small, I realized I was doing an OK job as a parent.

A couple of reasons 1st my child cared enough about me to want to get me what I requested, 2. the skill to listen and remember three items, and finally he delivered it with a smile!

Good luck as a fellow momma. Hope and pray you recognize the great job your doing.

Sincerely,
Ultimate Abbey

PS. I call you a prevailing momma because to even ask this question tells me you think about being a good mom and it means something to you. Keep creating greatness!
