Dear Ultimate Abbey, How do I get my schedule aka life to where I need it to be? Between working, house, managing my kids and their schedules, I feel like I will never be able to breathe? Please help!

If you don’t plan, as in write out a schedule… Like a detailed schedule. Maybe it’s just me, I would always feel behind. Now I know this doesn’t work for everyone.

My sister hates planning… Sorry sissy. She is more of a fly by the seat of her pants. BUT even she in her crazy life has learned planing is kinda necessary.

Make it easy for yourself.

Use your phone because we don’t want to have to carry around a planner and you will always, most likely, have your cell phone wherever you are. Unless you are like me and tend to lose your phone often! LOL

On a more serious note…

Without sitting down before the week begins to make our schedules, life tends to spiral. If you choose to make a conscious effort in planning life; from family meals, exercise, things you want to accomplish in the near future, it is most likely not going to get done.

Less stress will be in your life if there is a plan in place. Now the first time you sit down to do this… It is going to be more stressful then not having done a schedule. WHY? Because it isn’t something you haven’t done before. Usually the first time for most things are stressful.

Honestly…. Honestly, I plan a meal for everyday of the week except one or two days. One day is an automatic pizza day whererever our schedule is busiest. And the 2nd day is a meal out because this is usally a day we cannot even get home to cook a meal. At least not before 10 pm LOL.

Start here. Choose a day (my day is Sunday) sit down, you may need paper the first few times you plan. I find using paper is easier especially getting started rather then my using my cell phone ( I am old school ). Start by placing the necessary items on the calendar, now put in you time. Whether that be execise, going for a walk, lunch with a friend, etc. Now start putting together dinners you know your family will love. Plan meals carefully. If you are not going to be home until 530pm and you know everyone is starving then plan a one pan meal to throw in the oven. Save your longer dinners for nights you will be home earlier.

Another important tip to keep in mind. This is something I have learned with some years of experience. TRY (I am terrible at this) to be flexible. If something doesn’t workout try to look at the bright side of it.

I truly believe everything happens for a reason.
